Veszprém és a Bakony-Balaton régió 2023-ban közösen lesz Európa Kulturális Fővárosa. Az Európa Kulturális Fővárosa kezdeményezés az Európai Unió kultúrpolitikájának legfontosabb programja, amelynek célja, hogy az európai népek a kultúrán keresztül jobban megismerjék egymást és közelebb kerüljenek egymáshoz.

A Veszprém városát és a régió életét felpezsdítő programokat és projekteket 9 nagyobb csoportba tömörítve rendezik a szervezők, melyek mentén élettel és közösséggel szeretnék megtölteni a régió településeit, de a Balaton és vízgyűjtő területének ökológiai kihívásaira is szeretnénk ráirányítani a figyelmet.
Az Európa Kulturális Fővárosok programjainak nyitórendezvénye 2023. január 21-én lesz. A programokról mindig friss információkat találhatnak az érdeklődők a rendezvény honlapján itt és itt, és a közösségi média felületeken (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube) is.

The Hungarian city of Veszprém, together with the Bakony-Balaton region, will become the European Capital of Culture for 2023. The European Capital of Culture initiative is the most important programme facet of the European Union's cultural policy, aiming to bring the peoples of Europe closer together by through culture.
The cultural programmes are grouped in 9 cultural clusters field which frame the main ambitions of the new cultural region. The programmes will use art and culture as a means to respond to today’s serious challenges; such as bringing life and community back to our towns and cities and to raise awareness of the ecological challenges facing Lake Balaton and its catchment area.
